Treat Peanut Butter Apples for Dogs 4

You and your dog will get lots of fun from creating these delicious Halloween Dog Treats!

Since caramel apples are not suitable for dogs, peanut butter was used instead.

Easy To Make Dog Treats – Peanut Butter Apples

3 Apples
12 Pretzel Sticks
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
1/4 Cup Peanut Butter Chips

Step 1: Melt the peanut butter chips and the peanut butter, by placing both ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. Allow to melt until a smooth, creamy coating is achieved.

Step 2: Using a melon baller make mini apple rounds.  2-3 apples make about 12 of balls, depending on the size of the apples.

Step 3: Insert a pretzel stick into the center each of the apple balls.  Keep a few extra pretzels on hand in case some are broken in the process.

Step 4: Take the apple balls and dip them into the peanut butter.

Step 5: Place the peanut butter apples onto parchment paper on a baker’s sheet, and allow them to dry.

Once the coating hardens slightly, your dog will be excited to try this delicious treat.

  • Place the apple balls in the freezer and and offer them as frozen treats.
  • Placing the balls in the refrigerator causes the coating to become solid faster.
  • Store these treats in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
